"The humble will inherit the land, and will delight themselves in abundant prosperity." - Psalm 37:11
I was so blessed by my Father recently to discover just the right lighting, shadows, and smoky fog in this incredible landscape. I'm always on the look out to capture the layered smoky fog of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This nature landscape was taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway looking east into the morning sun towards Wilkes County and the Brushy Mountains.

Knit Together In Secret - Inspirational Photography and Christian Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg of Moravian Falls
"Thou didst knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." - Psalm 139:13-14
This inspirational photography image and Christian fine art portrait of a pregnant mother carrying her unborn son speaks volumes about the life of the unborn. As the Scripture says, it is God who creates us and knits us together in the secret place of the womb. This photograph was taken in Pasadena, California, by Blue Ridge Photographic Society Photographer, Josiah Friberg, of Moravian Falls, North Carolina.

Tree of Life - Inspirational Photography and Christian Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
"I have given you...every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you." - Genesis 1:29
This inspirational photography image of my daughter and one of our apple trees was taken in Moravian Falls, North Carolina. This Christian fine art landscape reminds me of the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Life. In fact, I often refer to this tree as the tree of life. Taken by Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society of North Carolina.

Moravian Falls Open Heaven - Inspirational Photography and Christian Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
"How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven." - Genesis 28:17
This Christian fine art landscape photography image was taken at the Fulfillment Fest in Moravian Falls by Blue Ridge Photographic Society photographer, Josiah Friberg. This sky or heaven inspirational photography image was taken during October of 2006 when hundreds of spiritually hungry believers came to seek God and worship Him in one accord at Pennell Farms. The scripture above expresses the feelings that everyone experienced while seeking God in this place.

Moravian Falls Storm Clouds - Christian Fine Art Landscape Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
"I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." - Psalm 121:1-2
This is probably my favorite Christian fine art landscape image in my collection. I took this inspirational photography landscape on my way home from work after a big storm had just let up. I was so fortunate that the sun broke through the clouds just as I ran out into the field to capture this image. The sunlight reflecting off the meadow is really the key to this photograph. I also love the way the clouds were just hanging over the mountains of Moravian Falls in the background. May you be inspired by the awesome beauty of God's creation through meditating on this photograph by Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society.

Dove Eyes - Christian Fine Art Portrait & Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
"How beautiful you are, my darling, how beautiful you are! Your eyes are like doves." - Song of Solomon 1:15
This inspirational photography image was taken of one of my favorite children in the world. She has the prettiest dark brown eyes that look right into your soul. This Christian fine art photography portrait was taken by Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society in the Brushy Mountains of North Carolina.

Lily Among Thorns - Christian Fine Art Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
"Like a lily among the thorns, so is my darling among the maidens." - Song of Songs 2:2
I found this beautiful flower growing beside Miller's creek as I took a walk in my neighborhood. This inspirational photography image taken in the North Carolina landscape speaks to me of the simple beauty so often found in nature. This Christian fine art photography image inspires me to look for God's beauty in simple things that I pass by every day, which in this case, is a flower. I am so thankful to God for creating such an incredible diversity of flowers, each with its own simple beauty and special unique design. Mysterious Autumn Leaf Woman - Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
"TO EVERY THING THERE IS A SEASON, AND A TIME TO EVERY PURPOSE UNDER HEAVEN." Ecclesiastes 3:1
This inspirational photography image is actually a combination of landscape and portrait. The base image is an autumn landscape, and the superimposed image is a portrait of a beautiful woman. I love the way these two images blend together to create or to reveal the mysterious autumn leaf woman. I have included a Christian scripture that I thought was appropriate to this fine art photography image. Photo by Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society.

Boston Harbor & USS Constitution - Inspirational Photography Landscape by Josiah Friberg
I took this landscape inspirational photography image of the historical ship, U.S.S. Constitution, as it returned to Boston Harbor after stretching her legs. I like the contrast between the old historical sailing ship and the modern city of Boston with its modern fleet of pleasure boats and sailboats. She looks as if she had just returned from a naval engagement with the Royal British Navy in the 1770's. Photo by Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society.

U.S.S. Constitution - Christian Landscape Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
Today is the 6th anniversary of the cowardly terrorist attacks of September 11th. I thought this landscape inspirational photography image of the U.S.S. Constitution would be appropriate. This historical ship is a symbol of American military power that has endured through the ages. I was fortunate to be on a cruise of Boston Harbor the day that "Old Ironsides" was taken out for her annual stretching of her legs. Blue-Eyed Beauty - Christian Fine Art Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
This inspirational photography image was taken during a year that I spent at home taking care of my toddler daughter. Every day I would take her to our local landscaped park and photograph her. She was the perfect child model. I remember this Christian fine art photography portrait because her beauty just seemed to invade my camera lens as I captured her innocent beauty. Her soft blue eyes penetrated my heart and captured the attention of my soul. Photo taken by Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society.

Thirst for Living Water - Christian Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
This Christian inspirational photography image by Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society was taken in landscape format in my basement window with soft diffused light. The following Christian scripture comes to mind when I look at it. Jesus was speaking to the woman at the well and said,
"Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." - Jesus (John 4:13-14)
The longer I look at this fine art photograph, the more I see in it. It is, of course, a very symbolic image that speaks about many spiritual things related to water. In this case, it makes me thirst for the water that Jesus spoke of that springs up to eternal life from within. This refers to the Holy Spirit who was later poured out on Jesus' followers, and is God's gift to everyone who believes in His Son.

Window Lily - Inspirational Photography Christian Fine Art Landscape by Josiah Friberg
This photo was actually an experiment using the natural diffused light from my basement window. I love the soft natural light that comes in windows, so I set up this scene to capture the details and colors of the pretty flower. I hope this inspirational photography image inspires you to see the creativity of God in a simple flower such as this. A Christian scripture that might go well with this one is, "Consider the lilies of the field..." This isn't the best landscape image of a lily, but I hope this fine art photography image captures your attention for a moment and causes you a little wonder at the beauty of God's creation. Be blessed! By photographer Josiah Friberg of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society

Strawberry Feast - Inspirational Photography Christian Fine Art Landscape
This inspirational photography fine art image was taken at a local strawberry farm here in the North Carolina landscape. I took my family out for a morning of fun picking strawberries. With buckets in hand, my wife, two small children, and myself went strawberry pickin' and had a blast! We learned how to only pick the large, ripe deep red ones because they are the ones that have the sweetest and richest flavor. The strawberry season is quite short, so make sure you plan ahead and get out there in time before they're all gone. Also, have a plan to eat many, freeze some, and make strawberry jam out of the rest. If you can think of a good Christian verse to go with this photo, please leave me a comment about it. Hummingbird's Feast - Christian Fine Art Landscape Inspirational Photography
This is the Christian fine art macro landscape image that I considered entering into the Blue Ridge Photographic Society contest, but I changed my mind and submitted the one below this instead. From the perspective of a flying bird or insect, this looks to me like a hummingbird's dream: a feast of nectar waiting to be enjoyed. I hope this inspirational photography image stirs up some wonder at the beauty of God's creation in a single flower. To me, each flower is a masterpiece, a work of art by our Creator. Sometimes I can't believe how much uniqueness and diversity God expresses through His creativity in what He has made.

Consider the Lilies of the Field - Christian Fine Art Inspirational Photography
I am a member of a photo club called the Blue Ridge Photographic Society, and every month we have a photo contest. The theme for this month was flowers. I've taken a few good flower shots in the past, but we are currently in a drought here in North Carolina and there aren't many good-looking flowers around in the landscape. The day before the contest, I was at a friend's house and asked if he had any live flowers. This photo is of that sole flower. I stayed up until 1:30 am trying to find a way to make this ordinary looking flower look like a piece of fine art. Eventually, after trying various different techniques, I discovered something in Photoshop CS2. It's a technique by famous nature photographer Vincent Versace that creates drama with a soft spotlight. You'll find it under the Filter menu, under Render, and under Lighting Effects. The style I chose to use was Flashlight. I chose to put a familiar Christian Bible verse by Jesus about considering the lilies of the field that neither toil nor spin. I hope this piece of inspirational photography truly inspires you to appreciate the beauty of God's creation and trust Him to take care of all of your needs (without worrying). Inspirational Photography: Bridge to Light
WINNING PHOTO FOR JULY 2007: Every month our Blue Ridge Photographic Society has a photography contest around a different theme. This July the theme was "Bridges." When all the votes were in, there was actually a tie between Josiah Friberg and Alisha Hauser, for the best bridge photo. For some reason some members thought we needed a tie break, so they voted again and chose this photo, "Bridge to Light," as the tie-breaking winning photograph of the month. By the way, this was photographed in Moravian Falls, just off of Highway 16 South, near the brick Baptist Church. I was fortunate to arrive early one foggy morning with my tripod, and I proceeded to shoot the bridge from every angle. I loved the way the morning light was trying to pierce through the fog in the trees which created a sense of wonder and awe in my heart. Glory to God for creating such a beautiful scene for me to capture!
